What is an Olla used for?
The Ollas are clay reservoirs intended to be buried in the ground for autonomous, eco-friendly, and economical irrigation. This is an ancient irrigation technique that dates back centuries, primarily used in the Middle East and Mediterranean regions where water was scarce and precious. The Romans were known for using ollas in their agricultural practice.
How does an Olla work?
Thanks to the micropores in the clay, water is slowly and gradually released from the surface of the olla to meet the plants' immediate needs, optimizing their hydration and water consumption.
